Our advocacy work wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of people who want to support the cause. We value any contribution that you can make. There are a few ways in which you can help:

  1. Donate to the operational costs of this website and awareness campaign
    Helps fund this awareness website, media and marketing, and later on some fundraising merchandise such as blue ribbons, as well as other related project expenses.
  2. Donate to your local ME/CFS organisation
    Helps your local ME/CFS organisation provide support and services to their local patient community.
  3. Donate to research
    Contribute to funding vital ME/CFS research.

1) Donate to the operational costs of this website and awareness campaign

Our website – May12th.org.au – needs money to run, and money to be able to grow and make an impact. Donations help with website expenses, media and marketing, fundraising merchandise such as blue ribbons, and other expenses surrounding this project.

This campaign is being managed by ME/CFS and Lyme Association of WA, Inc. as a collaborative project with a separate bank account for managing project costs. Your donation will go into our dedicated May12th bank account, which is kept separate from regular organisation funds. As this website and project is being managed by ME/CFS and Lyme Association of WA, Inc., our organisation name appears on receipts and bank accounts, rather than “May12th”. We are a registered charity and are audited annually, and we also have deductible gift recipient status, so all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Donations towards this May12th project can be made via GiveNow.

The GiveNow platform is commission-free on standard donations, and the credit card fees they charge are among the lowest in Australia. GiveNow transfers funds monthly, and provides donors with an easy way to make either a one-off or regular donations.

2) Donate to your local ME/CFS organisation

Your local ME/CFS organisation needs all of the support it can get, especially as majority are unfunded and rely on the goodwill of volunteers to provide support to their local communities.

To donate to your local organisation, head to our Find Your Local Organisation page and click through to their websites.

3) Donate to research

In time, we would love to be receiving enough donations so that we are able to then donate a portion of them to research in Australia. At present this is not possible as our May12th awareness project income does not cover our annual website and May12th awareness expenses.
