#MillionsMissing events in Australia May 2019

There are several #MillionsMissing events and rallies happening around Australia during May 2019 and for International ME/CFS Awareness Day.
Perth, Western Australia
Event: #MillionsMissing ME/CFS Awareness Perth WA
Date: Saturday, 11 May 2019 from 2pm-4pm
Organiser: ME/CFS and Lyme Association of WA, Inc.
Location: Yagan Square, Perth CBD
About:
“May 12th is International ME/CFS Awareness Day, and this year, awareness day activities are being planned right around the world between 5th and 12th of May. We’ve decided to hold our Perth #MillionsMissing event on Saturday, 11th of May this year (rather than the internationally planned date of the 12th) due to higher levels of pedestrian traffic walking by on Saturday, to create event photos for news on May 11th and 12th, and also to avoid any clashes with family time on Mother’s Day.
This is a great opportunity for our community to gather together and generate awareness for the illness, with displays of large signs, a sea of people wearing red #MillionsMissing t-shirts, and a field of empty pairs of shoes – representative of patients missing from their lives due to the illness.
The gathering will be held outdoors at Yagan Square, Perth CBD, and is wheelchair friendly.”

Join us for this free community event for International ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) Awareness Day. Bring your friends, family and allies.
#MillionsMissing is a global #MEAction campaign for health equality for people with ME/CFS.
Pairs of shoes will represent the millions of people with ME/CFS globally who are missing from their lives because they are so ill. They are mostly unseen, ignored and missing from health equality.
Up to 250,000 Australians with ME/CFS are missing out on medical research funding, trained doctors and services like the NDIS.
Join us afterwards for a community panel discussion and videos followed by afternoon tea. Then hand out flyers to raise awareness in the local community.
